Fluorescent tubes

Despite a move to different types of lighting over the years, fluorescent tubes remain a popular option.

Although they are deemed safe to use, fluorescent tubes from large strip lights through to the smaller energy saving bulbs, contain mercury in varying quantities. This means that they can cause serious harm if not handled and disposed of correctly. In fact, florescent tubes are now classified as ‘hazardous waste’ by the Environment Agency and the European Waste Catalogue (EWC).

We are fully licensed to receive, collect, transport, store securely and safely recycle fluorescent tubes and similar lamps. Not only does this mean a safer working environment, it means potentially dangerous materials do not cause serious environmental damage.
