Composting

The majority of biodegradable vegetable and green waste is reusable and suitable for composting, helping us to move away from landfill and provide agricultural and ecological benefits. Whether it is grass cuttings, leaves or food waste, it leads to recycling as nature intended.

In particular, it is well documented that the chemical and physical properties of composted green waste is effective in the re-vegetation and reclamation of brown field and landfill sites. By reusing green waste we help to produce soil improvers and fertilizer products which have a pH rating of 7.0 to 7.5 and contain between 0.8% and 1.2% total nitrogen. Not only do these help to neutralise acid soils, they reduce nutrient leaching and help the soil to retain water, optimising plant survival and growth. As a result landscaping, land restoration, horticulture and agriculture projects all benefit.

This means we work with everyone from small scale landscapers through to local authorities and large global companies to promote our composting activity.
