We continue to make significant investments in our resources and capabilities, including most recently a £3million investment in a state of the art Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) facility.

Significantly, this produces fuel from the organic components of municipal waste.

We have also invested in a wide range of specialist waste management and recycling equipment. Some of this is available for you to hire. So as well as letting us manage your waste on our site, you can also take control at your own premises, saving you time and money in the long run.

Waste compactors

In short, our compactors help to shrink your waste. Reduced waste means a reduced carbon footprint and reduced costs for you too. Waste compactors help to:

• Reduce the volume and storage of waste materials
• Reduce transport costs and carbon emissions by minimising the number of trips needed for the collection and transportation of waste
• Improve the environment and reduce the risk of container fires; wind scatter of loose materials; infestation by vermin or birds and people picking through waste thanks to the fully enclosed disposal system
• Remove manual handling issues through hydraulic and forklift loading

Vertical and portable baling presses

As well as our own vertical bailing presses, which make mill sized bales of over 500kg, we can hire out portable balers to help your business to keep on top of regular recycling of cardboard, waste paper, plastic and polythene. Baling presses help to:

• Reduce the volume of waste materials by up to 70%
• Reduce waste collection costs

Wheel wash/road brush

Whether you face low or high volumes of heavy duty traffic, our drive through wheel wash and road sweeper will help to keep your vehicles and site roads clean and compliant. In particular they help to:

• Flush particles of rock, debris and dirt from tyres and undercarriages of heavy duty vehicles
• Reduce labour by eliminating the need for manual washing
• Ensure that you comply with site license conditions and reduce mud and debris been deposited on to the highway.

Trommel/shredders and picking lines

Our trommel/shredders and picking lines help us to sort and recycle mixed waste materials.The rotating drum, shredding and conveyor systems give us scope to separate out everything from steel and aluminium cans and empty aerosols through to cardboard and envelopes.

Our team of 24 trained pickers are experts at removing all recyclable materials, such as plastic, paper, cardboard, scrap and wood. They place them into separate collection bins where they can be baled and continue on their recycling journey. Any non-recyclable materials are sent to our licensed landfill site as general refuse.

This system is effective in making sure that that at least 50% of our current waste stream is recycled. It is our aim, however, to divert what goes into landfill even further by at least another 30%.

Shredders for confidential waste

Government legislation dictates that it is your responsibility to comply with data protection regulations. Failure to do so can lead to fines and even prison.

Whatever sector you work in, we can provide reassurance when it comes to handling the protection and secure disposal of your confidential paperwork and documents. We already work with a range of organisations, including accountants, solicitors, call centres, financial advice centres and local authorities. They trust us to shred and dispose of their sensitive information in a secure, confidential and professional manner.

By handling your confidential shredding, we will help you to comply with the Data Protection Act, ensure consumer privacy and make sure that delicate information does not fall into the wrong hands.
