Health & Safety Policy

As with all process and operational businesses, waste management companies also face potential health and safety hazards.

These range from waste collection and recycling processes and handling heavy receptacles of waste through to slips/trips and falls.

We understand that the correct management of handling waste is essential to protect the health and safety of our employees, contractors, customers, visitors and the local community. That is why we carry out a full assessment on all of our waste management activities with regular reviews.

This helps us to identify potential risks, in line with the Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (Regulation 3). It also means we put the right policy, control and enforcement procedures in place to minimise accidents and incidents. So, whether we are collecting, transporting, pre-treating, processing, recycling or disposing of waste materials, we have a set of rules and regulations for every activity that we undertake which is relayed to all members of staff for a safe working environment.

As well as expecting our employees to adhere to these rules and regulations at all times, we also ask that you understand your particular responsibilities as a customer or visitor too. This might mean wearing personal protective equipment, having on-board hand washing facilities in your vehicles or sticking to our one-way system when delivering waste materials to our site. Your responsibilities will be explained to you during site inductions so that you understand what to expect and what you need to do to comply.
